the Star Wars obsession hit fast and furious with this kid.

it started with him watching A New Hope with daddy (who had to field a barrage of questions about every little detail of the movie as it played – hilarious) and quickly progressed into checking out books from the library, building Star Wars lego sets, and turning every tubular object in the house into a lightsaber. his knowledge of the movies is super impressive – i’m pretty familiar with the movies but he already has me beat on some of the details. well, blogging during kid’s clothes week was almost a total bust, because i got sucked into a sewing vortex all week! two out of three Halloween costumes are done and O’s is more “finished” than i planned because he tends to wear his costumes as everyday wear a lot more than E does, so i can’t cut corners. that’s up next. but i’m going in age order so this little gal is up first.

E wanted to be Elsa from Frozen. because of course she did.

kcw fall 2014: lumberjack layette pants

after my last post, i got requests for more baby C on the blog. aaaaand it just so happens the kid is in need of pants, plus this week is kids clothes week, so here ya go! baby toes in baby pants!

remember back when i pattern tested the lullaby layette pattern for Oliver + S? this fella wasn’t born yet, so my nephew modeled them for me. i chose to test the jacket and the bodysuit, but did not test the little pants in the set. i received the finished pattern when it was released as part of my payment, but had actually sort of forgotten about it until Tara sewed some and inspired me, as she always does! i wanted to sew something quick/easy/functional as a “palate cleanser” before i jump into Halloween costumes and while i’m still waiting for the go-ahead to blog a few other more involved projects that i’ve been sewing (i have like 12 or 13 things i can’t blog yet – it’s getting ridiculous). plus, i recently realized i haven’t shown baby C on here for a while (he’s 8 months old already!!!!!) so i had to fix that.

french terry (+ a touch of neon) hudson pants

went and made myself some more comfy pants.

i bought this fabric right after i made my first pair of True Bias Hudson Pants (and even mentioned it in my blog post). it took me way too long to get around to sewing them – August, finally – and then of course didn’t get photos until now. it’s been bugging me, because i’ve really wanted to share them! i just LOVE these pants.
