my sister had her second daughter late last night/early this morning!  that brings my niece count up to 2 on my side, while my nephew count stands at 3 over on the husband’s side.  poor girl was a week overdue, so this little gift has been patiently waiting for its owner to make her debut.

ahem.  put a bird on it!

fabric is a pretty batik fat quarter from fabric depot, bird template from lotta jansdotter’s “simple sewing for baby.”

p.s.  still quilting…em took a look at it the other day and proclaimed it “stupendous!”  that gave me a nice little burst of energy to get it finished and on her bed!
