it was a big sewing year for me! i started blogging in march 2011, and that really seemed to kick me in the pants – blogging rather than posting things randomly on flickr kept me sewing more regularly (because i was playing my viewership stats like a video game – AHEM!), and sewing multiple times a week also made me feel like my skills really improved this year (thank goodness, because i need all of them for my project run & play shenanigans). i started sewing in mid-2009, so i’m still constantly learning, but now have a nice base of knowledge to work from too. pretty neat to realize that.
i had lots of firsts this year – first quilt, first clothes for me (a shirt, a dress, and a never-blogged, never-worn skirt – hey, it happens!), first guest posts (bibs here and elbow patches here), and first giveaway. it’s really fun to realize i’ve actually joined a great little community of bloggers – even though most of us have only met online, i feel like we all share this crazy sewing obsession, and are real friends that i could go to lunch with and the conversation would flow even though we’d never “actually met” before. i love you guys!
here are my blogged projects from 2011 (sorry, not linking to each one – feel free to take a stroll back through the ol’ archives if you are curious). these are pretty much in reverse date order, or ask me and i can help you find something:
and here are a few projects that i completed early in the year, before i started blogging and was still only posting to flickr:
1. hoot doorstop, 2. quartet of boy bibs, 3. sprinkle gift, 4. knitting tote, 5. sister garland, 6. reading nook, 7. doll wardrobe, 8. sweet little dress, 9. fishy bean bags, 10. corduroy pants, 11. necktie onesie, 12. counting bean bags, 13. oilcloth coin purse
in 2012, i hope to sew more clothes for me, make at least one more quilt, really learn how to sew zippers into garments (the failed skirt is largely zipper error), work to decrease my stash rather than continuing to add to the mound (that’s what everybody says, right?), and maybe throw in a project for my husband? that could be interesting.

OH how I love that bib with the mustache and chevron!!! That is adorable! You did a GREAT JOB sewing this past year! Doesn’t it make you feel so good to look back and see all that you accomplished! My list was nowhere near as extensive as this, but it still gave me such a boost of confidence! I’m so proud of you! 🙂
